The deadline for the Appropriations Committee of the CT General Assembly is April 25th.  That means they are deciding on UConn's future in the coming weeks.  We need you to use your voice and let the state legislature know how important UConn is to Connecticut's culture and economy.

 

By any measure, UConn & UConn Health are critical to the state of Connecticut's economy. UConn contributes $8.5 billion to the state’s economy. Every dollar invested in UConn by the state generates $1.76 in total economic output through additional job creation, business revenue growth, increases in household incomes, and other multiplier effects; UConn’s activities are responsible for generating $429 million in state and local taxes in Connecticut; and UConn supports more than 48,575 Connecticut jobs.  Every state dollar invested in UConn translates directly into net new value for Connecticut’s economy, expanding statewide GDP through increased productivity, innovation, and human capital development.
